The climate tipping point that was missed…….
The reason for the drop in cloud formation since 1980 and rapid acceleration of climate disruption is detailed in the report, and it’s not carbon dioxide.

It’s got nothing to do with carbon dioxide but a tipping point regarding pollution which passed unnoticed in 1980. Clouds are formed by water vapour and aerosols, especially biogenic aerosols from trees and specific groups of plankton.
As a consequence of ecosystem exploitation/destruction and pollution (forever chemicals, plastic and carbon particles), the production of biogenic aerosols from photosynthesis has dropped; this allows humidity to increase and cloud formation to decrease.
Whenever there is a pollution incident or an aerosol trigger, you then get torrential downpours and very strong winds. This is why the Mediterranean is being hit. The SML surface micro-layer and biogenic aerosols production has collapsed; the same has happened for the Equatorial Atlantic Ocean
Until these issues are recognised and addressed, it’s only going to get worse.
