Using sunscreen is an important beauty step in the daily skin care routine that no one is overlooked. However, sunscreens come in many forms such as lotion, gel, and spray with different SPF levels. Therefore, to make the right choice, suitable for the skin, you should note the following 13 characteristics.

How to choose the best sunscreen

1. Production date

The more sunscreen the higher the effect. The ingredients in this cream tend to be broken very easily, even when not in use. Therefore, it is important to purchase the latest product possible.

2. Brand

A good and reputable brand is the second characteristic to consider when choosing sunscreen. Therefore, choose products that are absolutely safe to the skin, as well as recognized by dermatological agencies and organizations.

3. Sunscreen should not contain dangerous ingredients

Please check the list of ingredients printed on the packaging. This will help you know if sunscreen contains a skin irritant or toxic substance. Typically, products containing oxybenzone, a hormonal disorder, should be removed.

4. Always choose creamy sunscreen instead of spray or chalk

Spray sunscreen and mineral-based powder, containing nanoparticles that can penetrate into the blood and cause various health problems. Therefore, it is best to stay away from these products, instead using regular creamy sunscreen.

5. Sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or more

Always check the SPF range printed on the sunscreen package. Normally, SPF over 15 is usable but if you want to protect your skin best, use sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher.

6. Contains titanium dioxide or zinc oxide

When checking the ingredient list, look for titanium dioxide or zinc oxide. These are substances added to products to prevent harm from UV rays.

7. Resist water and sweat

If you are walking outdoors or on the beach, use waterproof sunscreen and sweat. This will limit pore clogging, facial skin oil or water-washed cream.

8. Child-friendly sunscreen

Children also need sunscreen like adults. But be careful when choosing ice cream for children because they have extremely sensitive skin and may be allergic.

First, test sunscreen on other skin areas such as wrists, calves, if safe, you can rest assured for your child to use.

Sunscreen for children should not contain para-aminobenzoic acid (PABA) and benzophenone. Besides, aveeno is a good choice for babies.

9. Stay away from sunscreen sprays

As mentioned earlier, it's best to avoid sunscreen sprays. Using this type of cosmetic is very wasteful because you have to use a lot.

10. Do not create a stinging sensation when using

Sunscreen should not create a stinging sensation when applied to face and body skin. If this happens, it's time to throw away this cream bottle and buy a new, safer product.

11. Note on acne prone skin

Water-based sunscreen available on the market. If you have oily, acne prone skin, use this cream. At the same time, people who are having acne problems should stay away from oil-containing sunscreens.

12. Price does not matter

The more expensive sunscreens are, the better and effective. The most important thing is that you choose the right product line, compatible with your skin.

13. Expiration date

Finally, check the expiration date on the package. An expired product can cause serious damage to the skin that we cannot anticipate.

Choose a sunscreen based on the above 13 tips, you will protect your skin from the most harmful sunlight.
